I have updated another old skin to AH III standards. This time it is "Bonnie" a P-47D-23 of the 348th FG 640th FS based in the Philippines in early 1945. This aircraft was flown by the squadron CO, Major William Dunham. Dunham was the 348th FG's second highest scoring ace with 15 kills in P-47s and one in a P-51.
The first two screenshots show the AH III skin, the last one the AH II one. The old skin lacked a specular map so the painted areas look way too shiny.
The only thing that spoils the AH III skin is the way shadows are handled. There is a noticeable gap between the fuselage and where the fuselage's shadow begins on the wing which you don't get on the AH II skin. I suspect the shadow is being generated from below the widest part of the fuselage rather than from where it joins the wing. This is a bug/limitation of AH III and it affects many aircraft to some extent.
