1/4 of the whole.

I prefer more accurate terms like, a heap of, a whole mess of, and when measuring time one cigarette is exactly how long it takes for epoxy to set for my gaskets.  :old:

So 2 weeks is not, or never has been, a truly predictable rule of measurement.

The Bug is technically correct.  Which is the best kind of correct.

Next up in math word problems...  If a train leaves Albuquerque headed toward New York at 60mph, and another train leaves New York headed toward Albuquerque traveling at 80mph, how many times will someone ask when AH3 will be done before they collide?

The game will be ready in a skosh.

Quote
The word skosh comes from the Japanese word sukoshi, which is pronounced "skoh shee" and means "a little bit" or "a small amount." The Japanese word was shortened by U.S. servicemen stationed in Japan after World War II. Later, in the Korean War, a small soldier was often nicknamed "Skosh." In civilian-speak, "skosh" can be used as a noun (as in our example sentence) or adverbially (as in "I'm a skosh tired").

Used more often in the south, like around Dallas.

I have a question. how many halves are there and if by chance there are only 2 halves which make up the whole, how many are in "the rest" ?

It's that "common core" math they are teaching these days.  :devil

Is a "skosh" more or less than a "smidgin" ?

A skosh is two smidgens, or four gnat's whiskers.

you are trying to rush hitech, just so you can be the first one to do the kessel run. ignoring the fact that it's the distance not the time that matters.

Hmm is the calculation based on a "HO or a "Merge?? Oh never mind, if its a collision then it must be a "HO".

Dr. Rumack - "How long until AH3 is ready?"

HiTech - "I can't tell."

"You can tell me, I'm a doctor."

"No, I'm just not sure."

"Can you take a guess?"

"Well, not for another two weeks."

"You can't take a guess for another two weeks?"

And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

Caldera, that's just like our public medical service, they only can book audiences with the doctor for two weeks. If the schedule is full, they ask you to call tomorrow for the 15th day. Which will be fully booked before you can get through. So you'll be asked to call "tomorrow", day after day.

As for math quizzes, here's a tough one:

There were three men in a boat. They had four cigarettes but no matches. How did they manage to smoke?

Answer: They threw one cigarette over board and made the boat a cigarette lighter.

A local bar has a "Free Beer Tomorrow" sign.  I keep going back, hoping that day will be tomorrow.
