I started in sometime during 2005-2006 in the Main Arena but I was in the head to head arena 2 years prior before joining the Main Arena.

Can't say I've never taken a break, but I flew in AW from '97, until it was killed off. I moved over to AH with MDJOE in 2001. The first tour I could find for myself was tour 23.

I've taken breaks from playing but have never taken a break from paying my subscription since June, 1996 in Air Warrior then here since Jan 2002 when AW closed.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Been here since 2004, Tour 52

Have seen #s increase to a high of 800 or more in one Arena! Titanic Tuesdays were not to be missed. HTC always adding planes, patching, changing game play, Oh the whines were epic.  :ahand
Landing more than 10 kills in a sortie was an ordinary occurrence. But all things must change.

Have not taken a break but have reduced playing time due to real life factors.

Will be taking a break in two weeks when AHIII comes out. Game will be unplayable with my current PC setup until I can afford to upgrade Graphics card and other PC items needed.

But as it has been in the past when changes have been made AH becomes a whole new game to learn and fall in lust with again.  :joystick:

Did you try it with environment map slider set to "none" and some other things turned down?

I have a sub-$500 system with a $120 graphics card, and it runs AH3 beta at 60 fps, which is what it gets in AH2.  I'm not seeing much difference in hardware needs between AH2 and AH3.

I have been trying AH3 and know it is not a finished product yet but I don't I think I would be happy with my current setup because I want to experience the Game as it is meant to be.
I have a good PC but with less than 1G memory Vid card it needs to be upgraded and I'll get to that when I can. HTCs most difficult task will not be creating a great looking Combat game but populating it.

I see no difference in quality of graphics between environment map slider set to "none" and  higher than none.

When I'm running in AH3, it reports using less than 500 MB video memory on my setup, so I think 1 GB cards might be fine.

I wouldn't stop playing between when AH3 comes out and whenever you get a new graphics card as long as it looks OK and gives you OK frame rate.  Graphics still look great.  Why not enjoy it if you can while you work on upgrading?

Started in Tour 27 and finally stopped after the first FSO of this year.   I play other games and simply grew tired of the volatility.   I will attend the Dayton Gatherings as they are held and will try to arrange meet-ups with players when traveling out of town.
