new update not working

I started to enter alpha and it said i needed to update. I proceeded with the update and it asked if I wished to join the game. I said yes and it stalled saying there was a problem. What do I do now?

Need to see some screenshots.  What you are describing makes no sense.

Did you install the full, current Beta?  What version does it say in the upper left corner of the splash screen?
