Best way to calculate flight range?
« on: February 10, 2018, 05:26:09 PM »
Trying to make some images highlighting range in Aces High at 1.0 fuel burn for a special event.

What do you think the best way to test or calculate the ranges would be?

Right now I am air spawning aircraft from 15K climbing to 25K at full power. I remain full power while looking at E6B, I then wait till the range stops climbing and begins to fall. Is this an accurate way of testing? Is the E6B data of range and minutes remaining accurate to use for display purposes as a general idea of what an aircraft can do at these full power settings?

Thanks! <S>
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Some aircraft pilot handbooks have range tables for mission planning.
