You would have to ask NVidia that one.  Not sure where that update notice is coming from.

You just haven't allowed the GeForce Experience permission in Windows Firewall.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Personally, I check to see what the update contains. If it is file fixes for games I don't play and such I don't bother with the download. I am a firm believer in the old "If it aint broke, dont fix it!"

how  does one do that

Type "firewall" into the search field. Or go to the Control Panel, it's there. In Win7 there's a link in the left pane saying "Allow a program..." or something like that (I'm translating the sentence). GeForce Experience may even be on the list, or you have to browse for it. Anyhow, when you find it simply put a check mark in the "allow" box.

However, Fugitive has a valid point there. Personally I'd disable the automatic update check and do a manual update when absolutely necessary.

Like they said using the Firewall permissions is a last-ditch effort. Aces High for instance will go for a very long time (usually until you forget about it) and then the Firewall needs new permissions. Personally, I don't even use the GeForce Experience because I keep up on the Nvidia boards daily and see the releases announced there.
