I have got all of Montgomery's books first additions.

I don't read historical atlas's or books with pictures.

Patton was a loose cannon who had no time for the British, causing Eisenhower immense trouble.

Patton was feared by the Germans though.

So Montgomery and the British were not effective in WWII

I suggest you read a book without pictures

Good for you.
I don't read historical atlas's or books with pictures.
I read all kinds of books, with and without pictures.  I’ve found over the years that atlas’s are generally unbiased .

Like you, I’ve read several of Montgomery’s books, he was his greatest fan, just like Patton.

Patton was a loose cannon who had no time for the British, causing Eisenhower immense trouble.

Who cares, Eisenhower used him when he needed him.

Patton was feared by the Germans though.
Not sure “ feared”  is the right term.

So Montgomery and the British were not effective in WWII

Where exactly do you think I made such a statement?

I suggest you read a book without pictures

Why the attitude ?

Mark W Clark do you want to talk about that clown.

McArthur wasting US lives in taking the Philipines for no strategic reasons only for his vanity

Why the attitude?

Insulting Bernard Law Montgomery.

I didn’t insult anyone.  I pointed out a fact.  Montgomery was responsible for “MarketGarden” a total failure .

Why the attitude?

I was questing your attitude

From your original posting:
Why make a film about a defeat  :old:

Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery stated soldiers wearing Dunkirk badges was nothing to be proud of, he was the only commander to get his unit home in a orderly manner.

Normandy was a Victory👍

Monty was the cause on many unnecessary Canadian deaths. Instead of taking the Scheldt and opening the port of Antwerp, he put the resources he had into his Operation Market-Garden.

His dillydallying allowed the Germans to prepare defenses in the Scheldt. This resulted in the delayed opening of the much needed port of Antwerp needed for shortening the supply lines.

From your original posting:

I am questioning your attitude are you a person in authority?

Montgomery was his favourite fan?

Off course he was these type of people need to be.

Don't know anyone historical figure who writes about the mistakes they made?

That's for others to do.

Ok Montgomery was useless and UK did nothing to defend democracy

Sheesh Devil.  Way to ruin the movie for everyone.  That's the longest movie trailer ever and gives everything away.

It reminds me of standing in line for the movie "Titantic" with my wife.  I told her, "I hope the part where the ship sinks doesn't look to cheesy with the CG", and a couple of 20 year old's in line behind us said, "The ship sinks ?!?!?!".

 :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Why is everything with you so hostile?  The only postings stating that " Montogomery  was useless and the UK did nothing to defend democracy" is all you Zack, I never wrote anything like that.  you opened this can of worms with your opening statement.  I'm done, enjoy the ride. bye.
