The CH stick ive been using for the past couple of months has been okay. I will say that it's irritating that they would design the 8 view hat switch at the top right of the joystick. It would make so much more sense to put it at the lower left position. Planes fly pretty smooth for the most part. It is bigger than it looks though. It's not a small controller. The throttle is great. The peddles lasted for over 7 years. I'd give the stick a 7/10 because of the location of the 8 way hat switch, the size, and it's buffer when the stick is in the middle, I sometimes get a DMYCSR when I'm in an intense fight and I sporadically wiggle the stick.

I've used CH controllers for many years with no problems.  The problem for some with the 8 way hat on the top right corner is attributed usually to small hands.

Wilbuz had one (Combat USB) and mentioned he had problems because he had small  hands.  Fortunately for me my thumb easily reaches the hats and buttons on top
of the stick.

I still prefer my CH stick for AH, I find I'm just so used to it after 16 years, the tension (lack there of) and just how it moves.  I'm using one that's about 8 or 9 years old and still works like new, same with the throttle, don't use the CH peds any more, they've been retired for a few years, permanently.

I had the same issue, but made a handrest. Go pick up some foam pipe insulation and one of your girlfriends hair elastics and you will have a $1.12 solution.

I think you just have to have larger than average hands.

Agree with the design choice or not, but I believe the CH Fighterstick is supposed to be a reproduction of the sidestick in the F-16. If I'm not mistaken, the real stick is mounted such that it is level with the pilot's thigh, and has pressure switches that only require approximately .25" total movement in any direction.

The CH stick really doesn't work well sitting on your desk, requiring you to reach up and forward to use it. I mounted a board to my desk so the stick sits lower and closer to me, and I can rest my arm on the armrest of my chair. I don't get stiff and sore muscles and have no trouble reaching any of the buttons.

Chuck Hayes didn't put the 8 way hat switch on the top right face of the CH F-16 Combat/Fighterstick, it's there because that's where the hat switch is located on the real F-16 flight stick, which is what the CH F-16 line of sticks are based on.

Yeah I mean that makes sense that they copied it. But you have to consider that in real life they have don't have to have a hat view switch. It works well for its purpose in real life as trim. I just think because of its importanance in flight Sims it should be in a more restful position. While the 4 way should be at the top right.

I liked my Warthog Handle but couldn't take the spring. I messed with the spring a lot and screwed it up. I use the Saitek 55 now with the least tension spring and it works nicely. I got an email that the VKB Gladiator Pro stick I ordered will be in a week or so. When the Adapter for the Warthog handle is available I will get it and install on the VKB. The Warthog Handle is great and I miss it but that dang Gimbal and spring is terrible 'at least for me' lol

I personally think the spring needs to be stronger.  I have had no issues with the stick at all
