Rift DK2 or newer version?
« on: August 26, 2016, 05:43:02 AM »
Quick question...Amazon has the Rift DK2 for 369$ and a new version of just the rift for 599. will the DK2 version be ok, or would the newer version be better?

Wingman: "Roger, It's 1:30 now, what do I do 'til then?"

The new one is significantly better than the old one hands down IMHO. Plus the new one is continuing to improve with software revisions. Don't waste your money on a dk2!

I have an Oculus Rift DK2.  I purchased it 2 years ago.  I am not able to get it to work with AH3.  Will it work?  Whats the magic?

Latest rift drivers, and in the rift settings you need to enable outside programs( forgot what the option is exactly called).

I'm running windows 10.  The configuration utility says the display drivers are not installed.  The windows device manager says generic pnp.  The drivers are in on the c drive in oculus vr runtime drivers.  Should they be someplace else?  I'm trying to resurrect these files so I don't have an installer.  Any suggestions?

Resurrection doesn't work well with the Oculus new system. Go to their sight and download the latest.

Their site says my computer isn't powerful enough for the new oculus. Need new processor, memory, and video card.

This is a sticky wikkett. Never thought about posting a best requirements for using VR in the game to have a good experience. Thought all you needed was a 3D compliant video card.

What is needed system specs wise to get players a reasonable experience in our new game?

My i7 2600K gets the same message and it works fine but they aren't kidding about the video card recommendation.
