early morning steamrolling
« on: September 04, 2016, 08:54:54 AM »
Got a pilot wound on the first pass at each V Base, but no hits on all subsequent passes.

Now I know what it feels like to steamroll.  Due to this development, I have promoted myself to 5 star Burgomeister.

To quote Alexander Haig: "I'm in charge here."

Why should his perks be reset? If anyone earns them, it's Snuggie.

Are you used to getting participation trophies?

No kidding. He spends enough time flying somewhere, not to mention he does that crazy stuff with the P40.

Anyone who knows what they are doing can just get 200-500 perkies a month. Resetting them really won't do much. That being said, I have already requested in the wish list more uses for perks so that people can spend more of them.

Wtg there Snuggle on the steamroll.

You have to look at the average player. The problem is, the common perception by AH vets discussing these things very much overrates what "average" really means in AH. The discussions on the BBS are often dominated by "oh, I suck sooo much" players who are actually in the top 10% with their stats.

Last tour, the average number of kills per player in fighter+attack mode was 43. That's way below 200-500 perks per month. Even if they had a good perk bonus modifier, we are talking about something like 40-70 perks per tour, on average (Remember, the avg. perk per kill in a fighter is close to 1, without modifiers).
Even whith the odd war victory perk thrown in, the average player would have a very hard time to fly a 262, ever, if the perks were reset after each tour.

Oh, and that's just the average, which is boosted by a small group of top players with insane hour per tour to boot. The median numbers are actually much lower.

All you have to do to atone for "perk privilege" is to change your game ID.  You will be freed from the terrible burden of your perks.

I'll keep mine, thanks.

43 kills is the average for fighter and attack?

Wow, that's a lot lower than I thought.

If you got 43 kills in a 190A5, which is much more exciting to fly than a 190D. You'd prolly reach about 150 perks a month.  :old:

Got 200 perks in the past two days and didn't get anywhere near 43 kills.  More like half that number.  :D
