Is there a trick to rendering the water in AHIII?
« on: September 07, 2016, 03:06:15 PM »
Is it how the water is supposed to look like? I see some type of texturing when I'm a few hundred feet above it. Higher than that, I don't have a visual clue if I'm 2,000ft or 10,000ft up ... which in a dogfight over sea ... I spend more time looking at my altimeter than the bad guy.  :joystick: Is there a proper setting or for now this is what we have? :azn:

Frenchy several of us posted about this in the Beta Forum.  Hopefully we'll get some texture added to the water.

Is there any depth to the water or is just a hard surface like it was in AH2?

AKAK when flying around 2 to 4K it is like a solid blue pool table cover.  If you should happen to go nose down it is like trying to catch a fly ball with no clouds in the sky.

Nothing on the surface until to late.  You have to rely on instruments and by the time you see your alt it is to late until you get about 400ft and notice texture. Then splash.

It is just solid blue.  No depth perception.

If you go near the edge of a large body of water in a GV you will see waves coming in. Just like in that video.
I have all settings turned all the way up. If you go out for a ride in a PT Boat, you will experience those waves.
I get seasick if I am out there very long. Very real indeed.

SFMA has no water texture other than pigment. No waves at all.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Can you screen shot this from the CV tower?

Max here is what it should look like.

The reason I could not duplicate it, is that I had already fixed the issue. It also makes the sun disappear.
And it's a DX11 bug only.

So it's fixed for the next patch.
