vid card testing?
« on: September 13, 2016, 07:45:11 PM »
Yesterday AH3 video was smooth as silk, fps never under 59.  Today, it's jerky with fps in the low 50s.  TrackIR panning is now jerky, too.  Since it's both online and offline, I assume it is my hardware.
The vid card is a GTX 1060 and is just a few weeks old.  Is there a way to test the card?

Silly question but, first things first, have you tried turning it off and on again?

Wiley.

Microsoft is pumping out updates today. I believe that cause a few network issues today.

In fact, it took my machine five hours to download this cumulative update (KB3189866).

Wonder what this problem was: ◾Addressed additional issues with rendering 4K resolution

Yes.  Rebooted a couple of times.

So, the MS updates would affect offline frame rates?  I'll check again tonight.

Thanks.    :salute

A pretty simple tool to test the card is Furmark:

Turns out it was the Win7 updater.  Had to let the PC run for 18 hours to finish the update.  Now, all is well with AH3.
Thanks for the suggestions.   :salute

This problem is likely to be with us through November at least. Microsoft has offset update times for various customers over a four month period.
