Sound settings
« on: September 23, 2016, 06:47:08 PM »
Howdy guys...Just trying to get a gauge on what others are using. as in headphone type and what you have sound settings...
I use a Logitech G930 headset.
I have tried a few ways i:e windows configuration, 5.1 discrete, 7.1 discrete,
Windows config is the worst for me...most of the sound seems to come through my right ear
5.1 and 7.1 gets a better directional sound but only if I have my dolby switch on
But with this I still get an issue that sounds don't seem to have a true representation of direction...and distance.
I am quite often in multi con engagements and in the past used my sight and then sound to follow cons...the new sounds are different I know but I am finding that the sound direction is not representing the true (according my ears from the old version) direction and distance....it is close but off...
a simple instance of this...if I look forward left I get a very muffled engine noise in my right ear....yes I hear it but it sounds like quite a distance away...I look forward right sound in left ear as loud as looking forward but in my left ear mostly...

During my testing of the sounds I have maxed and equaled all speaker configs within my headphones program to make sure I am getting the same sound from each "channel" so to speak (digital 7.1)

I am pretty sure it is user problem although the windows config really doesn't seem right on my end at all

So after a long winded post...could I get a few of your guys sound configs so I can look at playing around a bit more but with a little more of an educated direction...

Cheers
