The problem is the tank town object and it's scale.

Below are two screen shots from a 1000ft high ridge over looking the tank town object on my gunnery terrain. The first is unzoomed, second zoomed. I've included an aerial screen shot from directly above which I've made a map of the TT object. There are over 100 tanks hidden on that object. The only ones you can see are exposed in the open. And to see them to shoot at, my position is fully exposed to any of the hidden tanks that can fire up through the trees at me. This object is not designed for long range sniping because no one has to use the roads to give you shots. And that little town on the left, there are tanks in and just around it in the trees. See any? There is a squadron of Russian tanks sitting in an open field just next to the town hidden by the tree line from your line of sight.

In the zoomed picture there is a single building on a road at the edge of an open feild just about the center of the screen capture. It has sign in front that says "Roy's". It is a key landmark for navigating in tank town. See if you can locate it on the aerial view screenshot below. You can see the need for a clipboard map specifically to navigate this object.

How about something in between? Also can you spray some agent orange on the foliage please?  Someone put way too many trees in this game.

Trees are dependent on the terrain builder and the limited default tiles for each terrain set.

When some minor issues get worked out on my end, you should be able to download the terrain I took the screen captures from to make use of tank gunnery ranges and drive through that tank town learning how to see tanks. There are over 200 tanks all over the terrain to help you learn to see them in AH3. Once you are in tank town it is vastly easier to see tanks in the trees.

I constructed the 16x9 mile island terrain the screen shot comes from as real world representative as I possibly could. It's like driving and flying around in and over real terrain. As for the trees, should have been here in the alpha 2 years ago before Hitech thinned them considerably. All the pines were a 70-160ft variety from northern Europe.

The gunnery practice terrain updated to the HOST for custom arenas finally with Hitech's gracious help. You can get it by going into the Player tab, create a new arena and select gunnery. Leave everything else default. I will post in the "Custom Arenas" forum a zip file with the var, dod and tank town map for offline mode.

NDISLES is up now. There are 3 spawns side by side from each country as it was on IN AH2. The Gv portion of the map with TT is busy. Every GV'er is in here enjoying the tank battles. The GV portion of the map is being used. On the other hand the spawns into Crater in the GV portion of the map has gone completely dead, as in not populated. The spawns location ruined the gv aspect of crater.

Bustr if you want to promote your terrain please start your own thread. I know you mean well but you are not a GV'er.

It is germane to the tankers problem, and they get access to a tank town map for the clipboard at the minimum. It is a game tool made for them.

And Mano just for you, save and convert it to a bitmap and it will work in your maps folder.
