HE killing Tiger 2
« on: October 14, 2016, 02:38:52 AM »
I found that I can one-shot Tiger 2s with the HE round of the M4A3-75 from 100 yards, at least offline I can. Is the hardness of drones offline different from online?

Is this on the gunnery terrain?   If so, and if I recall correctly.  HE will blow the drones, AP does nothing but show the hit sprite.  That is the way it was set up.

If it is my gunnery terrain, all of the static tank objects are tagged "structure".

They will blow up easily with HE, bombs or rockets or 20mm cannon fire. They are there to give you a characteristic hit graphic to let you know your AP round hit the "HULK" like you see on modern tank gunnery ranges. Hitech programed static objects like setting down tank hulks to be impervious to AP rounds and only give a hit graphic. That terrain is for offline training to help you learn your sights, get a wirbel spawned within 800yds of a drone and learn to see tanks hiding in the trees. And all the other air spawn features for aircraft etc.....

I tried that offline Challenge. At 50 yards I could only track the T-2. I Also tried  rockets and AP rounds. I did two sorties with the same result. I had the CraterMA map selected and was at an AirField. Which terrain were you using?

I have looked for vulnerable spots with the M-8, and have not found any to date on the T-2.
