Manual download for patches
« on: October 19, 2016, 12:58:47 AM »
I wish we had the option of a manual download for patches like we did previously.  For some reason the auto-updater doesn't like SweetFX/Reshade so I have to remove those files and then auto-update and put those files back in.  Manual download would save me from that hassle.

Is the problem the game will not execute the downloaded patch, or the patch will not download automatically?

If the issue is the patch will not execute, after it downloads, all you have to do is manually execute the patch which will be located in the "temp" folder of the game installation path.

If the issue is the patch will not execute, after it downloads, all you have to do is manually execute the patch which will be located in the "temp" folder of the game installation path.

It crashes when the auto-updater tries to start with the error message AcesHigh has stopped working.  I then have to remove the 6 SweetFX/Reshade files and then the auto-updater will run okay and download the patch and install it.

So it crashes at the point where the dialog in the game has asked if you want to update the game, and you press "OK" and it crashes before showing the download progress bar?

What files are you removing (names and extensions please) and from where?

It crashes at the point where I click on "Online Arenas" on the clipboard with the error message that AH has stopped working.  To resolve it I have to remove the following:

SweetFX Folder
d3d9.dll
d3d9.txt
d3d11.dll
ReShade.fx
sweet.fx

Once those 5 files and 1 folder removed, I can then click on "Online Arenas" on the clipboard and the auto-updater will download and install the update.
