Thanks for the input, all.  I miss the days when the sticks were on the display console at CompUSA or Best Buy...

I know one t16000 user that had a bad rudder, but overall its an awesome stick for the price, wich doesn't use potentiometers for the x and y axis as the sidewinder

I used to use a ms sidewinder3d pro back in the 90's and then stopped flying for a long time.

Came back and went through a bunch of sticks.

Decided on the Saitek X52Pro.

Pretty happy with it. Just needed some damping in the middle of the (twist)rudder.

Good luck, it's tough going through learning a new stick.

p.s. I also wish they had been on display, I had to buy a bunch of different ones (and even tried pedals) before I found ones I could deal with.

I started with a Sidewinder, and went to CH Figtherstick, throttles, and rudder pedals, and much prefer the CH stuff.

CH gear is the best even it looks dull.

You can take gear apart if you need to.

x52 had nice lights, apart from that it was garbage until you did the usual modifications shown on YouTube.

Those Eastern European joysticks and pedals look very good but expensive.

People in Eastern Europe using engineering skills is very embarrassing.

In the U.K. we now make fat people.

V - it does not matter what stick you get, you never seem to use it much.  Seems you are replacing Rapi.......er never mind, as the hit and run man.  If you get a new stick you might want to use it :p
