Visual. It looks corrugated and blue.
Maybe a little like this, I.E. the real thing?

Ok, the picture shows blue wood. I have videos of CV's in WW II action. The ones in color show brown wood (or some shade of brown) , but none show a ripple or corrugated deck.
Your the boss , so I yield.

So, I need to explain away my suckage. Nice insult.

I can understand why the deck would be blue--camoflague-make it same color as water-maybe the ships captain ordered it painted blue

After closer viewing, squinting my eye,
the deck does not look rippled or corrugated, but flat. My bad. However the films I have seen do appear to be brown decks. No more wish List for me.

Paint probably wore off due to all the planes taking off and landing and other usage.  Also, in the B&W photos, the decks do look wooden though most likely painted blue but some decks weren't on the other hand.

The Hellcat cat picture looks like the deck has a faded NAVY grey. Seems there was a lot of variation. Still, blue is a valid choice along with bare wood, weathered from grey or blue to wood and so forth.
