AH loses TIR mid flight
« on: November 07, 2016, 02:47:04 PM »
The game loses TIR for some reason on some flights in mid flight and there is no way to recover it. What TIR shows is that it is "Disabled" and the camera refuses to read the lights.

The only way to bring it back is to restart TIR which makes it impossible for the game to pick it up again without restarting the game too.

As a object lesson how to create concentric rings of suckage, in the past it was easy to default back to the view keys programmed on the throttle. However since the AH3 change that makes TIR the priority, the only views that work are on the keyboard itself. That works to land but requires setting up the rig completely for fighting.

Again, the easy method is to make the view keys the priority over TIR. It is a simple priority switch and the majority of the user base is well used to AHII. Unfortunately, still not seeing how the new set up is an improvement in any way.

Alternate method would be an in-game switch to reacquire TIR which might be useful but that seems much more work than the priority switch.

Thanks!

I moved this to Technical Support as this sounds more like the USB bus resetting or browning out or it is being plagued by the power control.

Make sure the USB bus is not being managed by any power settings (always on).  If you have done that, then describe all the USB devices you have plugged into what ports.

You're saying the hat views stop working when TIR stops?

I used to have this happen from time to time and I changed the USB it was plugged into.  Solved it for me.

This may not be perfect but it is a workaround............alt tab to get out of the game.  Stop the game in Task Manager.  Resart TIR and launch the game.  You get 5 minutes and should go back into flight in the game.  If in an active combat area you will likely get killed but works for other situations

Not had any disconnect issues lately... but did have hard time getting head position saves in AH3 working correctly.  When in and removed all my custom profiles for each plane....  Track IR works much better now.
