Lets give the M3 a punch
« on: November 04, 2016, 10:16:27 AM »
I was thinking... i know scary... why cant we scuttle base objects if the base is about to be captured? In real life it is unwise to leave something valuable for the enemy to use against you.
I was thinking that the M3 could carry a small charge. You drop it next to a base object like an ord bunker or radar and have a set time to drive away or die in the blast. I would limit this charge so not a single player could destroy a hanger.
What does everyone think?

How would you stop players from abusing it and griefing their own team? How would you determine when you can start demolishing your own base during a capture?

I like the idea, but putting it into play is a little harder.

First step, wishlist for troops that can be manned by a player. Hitech once talked about being interested in man-able troops. Once Hitech rolls out the first generation which will probably be you can join on as one of the 10 to take a map room. Then begin wishes for the subsequent generations. Just like getting a new ride into the game. Long baby steps while pulling your hair out thinking Hitech has ignored you.

Beaufighter and G.55 anyone??

So no defense? just give them the base? are the knights really getting that lazy.is it a inconvience to defend, what is it?
or what? I'm not going to give them a base because they flatten it.if they want it they have to fight for it usless I can't get any help defending it-then I say to hell with it. it happened the other day with V16 ene gv's coming in I sent alert no help-I killed 2 got killed twice- then they camped the vh. I left-a squadie quit my squad because I wouldn't go back, had words he quit. we give away enough bases-we don't need to help them. if you can get a M3 in with a demo charge, then you can get a M3 in with supps. jeez, what else is next?

ok you can flame me now-as usual no hard feelings

Set a charge so it detonates after base is captured.....I mean really?

Go do the work....when its opposed vs when you own and set charges to blow all the buildings, dars, mine the runway etc....5 minutes after you LOSE it.

How much more griefing do you guys want?

I can man a gun and get kills and never be killed.

I have icons to 6 miles on enemy aircraft when in a gun...

GVs are a big part of the game but we don't have anti-tank guns on the fields or towns to defend them ...yet we have AAA.

I have reduced icons on GVs when on the ground, but my aircraft icons still go way out.

If I turn my engine off it makes me even harder to see (SAY WHAT?) and if I stick my icon under a tree it dissappears.

Now you want to be able to leave delayed charges when you know you are going to lose a field? Come on.....its a COMBAT SIM.

The M3 already has a punch - it is called the 75mm howitzer.  How many other rides can you up that make 48mph to a base and can quickly lob 17 shells into it that will destroy the hanger?  I don't need the kamikaze version of the M3.

This is for the kind of person who goes to parties to get drunk and be thrown out for being a bad drunk right after he slips a deuce into the toilet tank to kill the party after he's out on the curb. You figure he's got so many parties to burn his bridges with people before he spends Christmas and New Years alone. He will swear it's worth watching people running out of the host's house every time he does it. Still, it's those half dozen parties before the end of the year he screws for people before everyone catches on to him.
