Thanks for sharing that!  My Dad who used to crew on a TBM told me about the shotgun shell starts, nice to see it....he also spoke about the pilots bending over to hand-crank up the gear on the Wildcats after takeoff.

Cool, I'll have to share that one with my Dad too.  You might enjoy the reply he sent reply after I sent him the FM2 start link:  "Wow, took me back almost 70 years ago!!
I just grinned watching the start. Big fire hazard.  Easy to forget to remove spent shell. The next start with spent shell cooking in there could be difficult to dig out.  thanks……"
