...and in that thread it was pointed out that WWI tanks traveled at pretty much walking speeds.

Did WWI tanks ever shoot at each other? I'm curious.

The Germans only built 20 of their own A7V tank and mostly used captured Allied tanks. IIRC there was one incident where British tanks were taken by surprise by some German-crewed British tanks.

The heck with WWI GVs! Where's my zeppelin????? Warbird's Dawn of Aces not only had zeps, it also had the ability to call in arty strikes from zeps and two-seat aircraft. Click on the map, call in a spotting round, adjust aim, call in another spotting round; once on target, call in "fire for effect" barrage. Way cool.

And regarding tanks, my son plays Battlefield I, and the GVs seem quite popular. Yes, I know it's arcade-ish, and the game play is completely different. I'm just saying, there are ways to add them that could make them effective. After all, AH takes plenty of license when it comes to such things as mechanical reliability and magic spawn points.

The WW1 arena is for aces high players who like to dogfight, which is why it's always empty.
