Thanks guys! We are home now and she is fretting about what is to be done to finish her cooking. This woman is hard as nails!

The doc sent her home after givivg her pain meds and wrapping the burn. Because it is around her knee they are suggesting a trip to the Augusta Burn Center tomorrow morning. Their not overly concerned with the burn itself, but are concerned about how it will affect her knee in general.

Medical techniques amaze me at times since in past training we were told not to put oils/ointments or wraps on a burn. This morning they bathed the burn in neosporine and wrapped it with bandages.

When I wss a kid my mother would grab a stick of butter and I would fight off flies the rest of the day!

Glad to hear she is doing well Sim.  You are quite right in that the treatment of burns have advanced a lot over the years.  I would suggest you finish the cooking, but I am sure she is in enough pain as it is.  :D

I wish her a full recovery and peaceful holiday season for your family!  :salute

I had second and third degree Burns from a blown radiator. Upper right side body and right side of head.

They used Silvadine everywhere except by my mouth and eyes where they used neosporen. I spent 4 or 5 days in the hospital too.

Since that time my home always has neosporen. Amazing stuff.
