Terrain Editor - Static Ships
« on: December 08, 2016, 06:19:51 AM »
Would really like the dumcv, dumca, and dumde objects that were in AH2 to be put back into in AH3 so that I can place ships moored in harbors at Pearl and Rabaul and others.

It would certainly add immersion and flexibility in scenarios, events, etc.   ....Drifts off to sleep with images of strafing a field full of parked aircraft, jeep, m3s....

+1 For those dedicated enough to generate the maps for us all to enjoy. (of course only when the majority of AHIII is polished and game-breaker bugs isolated and squished that is.)

That's why placing a fleet into a port for some photo ops last year ended up with the port's icon changed to a task group. And why I could place a destroyer on land in my 4 mile tank range and use it's guns...... :O

I also miss the large cities AH2 terrains had,  London,  Paris,  Tokyo,  nothing was more awesome than approaching Berlin in FSO or scenarios,  on the bomb run.

If those could be brought back too.  :)
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Bustr yeah right now if you place a cv, ca, or dd object it thinks it is Task group and you have to attached the first ship to a port. Back in AH2 you had a dumcv, dumdd that the game just considered a bombable object and would not be treated as a Task Group (players could not set a course for it, etc.).

I thought they added the ability for users to create their own objects? Is making even larger dummy-ships prohibited?
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Yes we can and I have done it, but it takes an outside 3d modeling program and quite a bit of knowledge.

I needed some ship objects so I took a dumca out of AH2. you have to do some stuff to it to get it working in AH3, so I decided to modify it into a big cargo ship.

Not great, but it did the job.
