Runway problem
« on: January 08, 2017, 06:43:34 PM »
On the extra large airfield, one or two of the runways , end  into an aa battery. The runway turns into not a runway. Please mark "Keep off, not a runway". Have crashed several times.

I can confirm, I've nailed the AA sitting in the middle of the field during auto takeoff.

This has been pointed out in a previous post (more or less)

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,384039.15.html

I posted about the runway spawns not always lining up. Basically, some of the "runways" on fields are actually Hard Stand spawn points (circular parking spots for a plane to sit off of a taxi path) that require you to taxi to the actual runway if you are not in a light aircraft that can take off in a short distance. Yes, it is missleading but it tends to be the cross cardinal runways (runway 045, runway 330, etc.) on the largest airfields and you either avoid spawning there or taxi over a bit to the actual Cross cardinal runway.

The ack is not on the runway, you are not on the runway because of a bad spawn point making you think you are on the runway.  This has been reported as a bug some months ago.

Just launch from Hanger position and you can.
Might as well make vehicles driver to their spawn points too.

I also had a little frustration with one of the runways recently. Launched a 262 (one of the few times I have been able to due to low perks...I fly bombers mostly) and it spawned me on the grass strip. Unfortunately there was a nice building sitting across the end of the grass strip runway causing me an instant crash and a loss of 283 perks.

Seriously...who puts the building at the end of a runway strip like this? (Someone said the British did...) And why the heck would a 262 launch off a grass strip anyways instead of a concrete runway?

Cheers,
Elec1

I actually saw this issue last night. Spawned not alighted with the runway. I fixed it though.

Launching from hanger is a challenge too. Nice large trees directly in front before you have space to get airborne.

Still not very hard to look around before opening the throttles. I know we arent real pilots but im sure we can put up enough effort to take off safely without having every kind of obstacle removed.

If I have an enemy trying to get me while landing I'll belly land every time. It's the quickest way to get out alive. Normally I use the gear but why get upset if someone chooses not to.

Because if you belly land the ground crew has to spend all night buffing the damage out!
