Q's for Pyro
« on: September 09, 2001, 03:28:00 PM »
Dont want to take much of your time so ill just make simple Y/N q's, all of them pertaining to 1.08

1)Is P-38 damage model being looked at (and I dont mean the engine damage model, I mean the rest of the plane)?

2)38 Dive flaps being fixed?
3)38 Fowler flaps being fixed?
4)c202 guns being looked into (Italian guys had info that the mg's were like mg151's)
5)We getting a 38J or F next version (J would be easy I think.. no dive flaps, lighter, GREEN  :D )
6)Want a raise?
7)Ju-88 nose cannon version?
8)Are any of the current planeset getting more ordenance? LW and Japanese planes need more bombloads.
8a)2 X 2k bombs + 10 rocket ord for P-38?
8b)NAPALM?

Thanks for yer time Pyro!

I dont think he'll answer because it's not different then most other wish lists

But they're good ideas, so it might go on the 'to do' list if it isn't already there.

On another note, a while back I asked if the areas on a field for a 'successful landing' could be widened for those times when you just slid off the end of the runway by a foot.

I'm just curious if you remembered that ht, at the time you thought it was a good idea.

talking about 'successful landing' you can land wheels up, bust a eng , rip off a wing, but as long as you end up on the hard runway it's a 'successful landing'

if you land good and stop on the grass , it's a ditch,( like when your out of fuel or a dead eng , etc.) any landing inside the field should be 'successful landing'

what about rearming GV's on the rearming pads?

i severely doubt the p38 ever flew with 2 2ks plus 10 rocks,

2 2ks would be nice but plus 10 rocks is a bigall load, the plane would need like forever to take off. plus itd climb like a rock and be frigging slow.

u know that this load was ever used operationally?

yes it did use the 2k's operationally, I even got a pic of a 2k bomb with the pilot and crew chief (I think) posing by it. I bet that thing was a PIG to fly.

MG151 is a 20mm cannon.
12.7mm is more or less equal to .50 american.
Here is italian gun camera from a 202 blasting a P-40 with the 12.7mms. As you can see i think the 202 guns need a slight upgrade.

I think gatt posted this awhile back, but to lazy to look.

Breda 12.7mm(same round is fired by Japanese Ho-103) is NOT anything near equal to the .50in Browning(or 12.7mm Berezin). Nuh-uh.

202 guns are fine.

and thats a p-40 its shooting.

note p-40 is still in one piece despite the smoke from the hits.

in fact it may have even flown off and rtb'd with that damage.

only way that shot would be a sure kill is if the pilot was hit and killed

You didn't see him roll to the left side and down? No way he could escape/rtb. Kraut gun is probably MG 17 most likely.

TAC,

You should be kissing that P-38 after what it went through last night and still brought you home!!   :)

<S>
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.
