Offline if you enable the dive bombing green cross, put out some tanks and make runs on them with bombs and rockets. Oh make sure you are 300 or faster for rockets, you will find with Hitech's physics these historic default gunsights I made for the game work as designed. The "V" represents rockets on your wings if you want to focus a shot from a wing, top is 400 and bottom is 800-1000. The two bars below are for glide bombing at angles. If you are 500-1000AGL at 300-350 level, the bottom of the 100Mil ring is about 800-400 for rockets.

I've super imposed them over this one I updated for dmdchief. I verified that they work per the manuals.

This is the L3 in the P38, N9, and Mk8 in the Jug reticle superimposed.



This is the real fixed reticle for the P51D from the K14A gunsight super imposed.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH,

MIDNIGHT MADE THIS SIGHT WAY BACK IN ACES HIGH I  and I have used it ever since he sent it to me.  Buster was kind enough to update it for me for III and ya'll are correct on the bottom boxes for bombs and mid boxes for rockets,  in addition you can use the 45 degree lines to help with lead on an angles attack with just a little practice and get hits from 800 out with guns set all the way out.

I remember seeing this sight after I first joined AH2 in 06 or 07 then when they changed the game designed/upgraded then it was gone

Is there per chance a file with a .mil extension in the same place that you extracted the .bmp file to? That file needs to be in the sights directory also to control the size of the gunsight you see in your screen.
