I was still within the return period so I brought it back and got a new one.  Problem solved 😀

How does that work with the big box stores?  Specifically Best Buy.  If I go back today am I likely to find it as an open box item?  Just buy it again for $100 off and swap out the CPU fan regardless =)

Don't know about their policy, it's too far from where I go shopping... But they might check it, refurbish if necessary and put it for sale. That's what the big internordic chains do here.
