DX9 Crash dump.
« on: February 20, 2017, 08:18:12 PM »
DX9

Started up my terrain then sweath the cloud front file. Left the game sitting in the tower for 30 minutes. As I returned to check on it, crash dump occurred.

Attached are the dmp and awa files.

Hitech,

Since this doesn't happen when no awa file is running, there may be a chance I've exceeded something that can be supported which you may find. I'm going to try a different configuration of cloud fronts along with testing if the problem lays with the shear volume and frequency of fronts I'm pushing. It may even be possible the speed I'm running them through to keep clouds up to 80% of the time over the strat and other targets is causing the problem due to the mass of redraws of the objects. So far none of the terrains in rotation are running fronts like I am with my terrain.

The terrain is finished, the fronts are a key element to the play factor.

Found the bug causing the CTD. It would also periodically happen with other clouds also. You just had many more clouds so it showed up more often.

One other limitation is that you should have less then about 1900 rows active at one time.

OK? What do you mean with "1900" rows active at one time?

Arrrrrrghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bhead :bhead :bhead :bhead

Now I gotta count rows too!!!!

Any chance you writing a row counter that I can run like the error checker in the terrain editor since I now have the final most important condition to running a weather system on a terrain?

With all respect sir, please.....

Hmmmm, barring that, can you at least give me the headers for the comma delineated columns in the awa file so I can manually count these things?

I'm about 500 rows from the limit with the important things covered with a permanent layer, but now I can get creative.

Thank you.
