It's like an X-Box Kinect sensor, so yes sort of. However that sort of tracker is prone to lag, or skipping and not usually recommend for flight sims. There are similar free ware apps like facetracknoir.

Have a go at a home made tracking rig and use an open source tracking software like OpenTrack which is being maintained or FreeTrack which is not but still works great as I currently use. A Playstation3 camera and IR leds some wire and your ingenuity is rewarding.
