Grizz was/is everything Kappa described IMO, but was also a very good teacher.  He posted a thread a while before he "left", about how to make snap shops with the Mk108 in the K4, it's probably one of the best examples of explaining how to shoot anything, let alone the 30mm, in the game.  Great example of adult learning/teaching techniques, I'll have to find the thread and link it later.

17 kills is a lot, but nothing impossible.  I will say that since 2010 or so when I started flying a bit again, that compared to early days, say 99 to 2004ish, getting high kill streaks is much, much more difficult now.  I have films/screens of a number of 20+ streaks I had (with rearms obviously) in everything from the Spit5 to the F4U4.  In the last 7 years I don't think I've cracked double digits, not once.  Maybe it's a better overall skill level, even if statistically it doesn't really show that as per Snailman graphs and so on - or maybe I'm just getting worse.

I don't think the Grizz 262 video will ever be topped, and will stand as the longest streak with proof forever.

Yep

The rearm pad can be used as a "sortie" misconception device.  Maybe it should be renamed the: "Fake Sortie News Enabling Platform" - when used in this manner?

That sorties can be extended by first LANDING then using this magic device to: ignore you just LANDED, yet you are still flying but now have full fuel and ammo is curious.

Think about it.  Do you really think pilots fly more aggressively or carefully having the ability to extend a sortie forever (and land a crazy number of kills per "sortie")?  Does having n players flying "carefully" help facilitate more and better ACM?

BTW, I am a fan of the WWII usage of the rearm pad.  I am glad it is in the game in this context...but not the "sortie" abuse context.
Excellent post and worthy of an entire thread to itself!

Rarely will I ever land an ace. Normally this is due to a lack of patience and over estimating my abilities. Yet just recently decided that I would not land until I could land an ace. Over the next 3 sorties I landed 17 kills and aced 3 times. Re-arned half a dozen times in between.

Noticed I was a lot more conservative when engaging into a fight. Always made sure I had equal footing or the advantage. I wasnt timid I just flew smart and waited for my opponents to make a mistake. Had some help along the way as well from time to time.

I just dont land those kind of sorties when im not focused on staying out of someones crosshairs.

"Grizz made a following of 30MM users in the game ect ect ect...granted Grizz isnt active right now and what not but I think you'll understand my point." That thread is what I was referring to when I said this....To this day there is not a better post on here which teaches something that well....really well done wish he would have done more.

54 in a tempest no vulches 3 rearms. Personal best in one run was 16 in a spit 16 no vulches but a couple lawn darts kills.

Some of the most impressive flying Ive seen is when the enemy is severely over matched and ends up losing. You'll never see it in the stats but Ive been impressed as hell when an enemy is in a Ki, a jug, a 38 and fly's effectively for long minutes against multiple enemies. Even if he does end up getting killed eventually.

Agreed.  In fact, that's probably the most fun way to play this game.
