Upgraded Video Card....excessive UDP/TCP drops

I am at a total loss.

Purchased and installed a new GTX1060, and of course....installed the latest drivers from Nvida.

Now....when I am online, I am constantly "Host Disconnected". Lost UDP, switching to TCP.

If I log in on my 2nd machine..... no disconnects.

I put the new video card in my 2nd machine, loaded drivers from Nvidia....and the 2nd machine was now losing its connection to the game server. 

Asked on ch200 in game....and nobody could understand what possible connection there is between the video card and my connection quality.

ANY help......... appreciated.

Are you installing just the drivers or the "experience" software too?

Reason I ask is maybe the Nvidia software is trying to update causing the connection issues.

Think it might be an ISP issue. Will post back, when I find the solution.

I noticed you are in Canada, wouldn't happen to be in Ontario by any chance? The reason I ask is I know another Canadian that was having connection issues tonight, and usually his connection is rock steady.

Fugitive has a point there. Only install the components you need. For AH you'd only need the drivers since you can do all the adjustments in the game. There's exceptions to that rule, but since you're asking instead of providing tech tips I believe you're not a member of the exception group. I've encountered some issues with the Nvidia 3D drivers. If you don't have a 3D monitor you don't need them at all. Also, if you're not using a TV as a monitor and the TV speakers for sound, the HDMI sound driver should not be installed. Further, in such a case the HDMI sound device should be disabled.

What are the odds, the exact day that I purchase a new video card, install it.....and my ISP goes south.

Just in AH now.....so far so good.

Glad it's resolved Capera!   I was beside myself trying to figure out why I was dropping out!  Couldnt find anything on my comp,power cycled my modem and it still continued. I didnt bother to run pingplot as I thought it might be a result of the nasty storm we had!

   It's unusual for me to have these issues,I have my own line,fiber optic all the way to the hub! And I have a 1/2 gig download speed!


    Was worried it would effect FSO tonight,glad to hear your's is working fine now!

Your connection means little in the overall scheme of things.  Run Ping Plot and take note of each line.  That is a router.  A router which also has connections to the Internet and all those connections impact yours.

You can have a bazillion giga bit connection, but it will always be as fast as the slowest link between you and any given point on the Internet.
