Small organization making great efforts locating remains of fallen solders on both sides.   So far they have recovered over a impressive 10,000 remains, which i will not be surprise if that is not close to 25% of the total fallen in the area .

Since 1992 there has been similar activity both in Finland and Russia, the Association for Cherishing the Memory of the Dead of the War. My mother participated by locating on the spot where they had buried Soviet corpses during the Interim Peace. Towards the end of the Winter War Soviet soldiers inhabited the houses of the evacuees. The winter of 39-40 was extremely cold so they left their dead in ditches to be covered by snow. Imagine a 12 year old girl hauling rottening corpses along the fields to be buried somewhere behind the barn...
