Microsoft is already saying that the "Creators Update" will take several months, so the DPI fix won't be available right away for everyone even when it is out.

EDIT: BTW, they keep rolling back the release date. We have been a week away for three weeks now.

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I noticed they released it for the XBox, and have changed the general release date to April 11.

No one has seen the DPI fix yet, so no one knows for sure if this fix will be the right fix.  They already tried to fix it once and broke it in other ways.

Bruv,

True 4k flyer here. Game is much crisper graphics wise, but the limitations of not being able to see much outside of icon range is frustrating to say the least. Guys calling out stuff, and you go "nope..don't see squat".

So while the game is fully capable of 4k setup, the handicap may not be worth it IMO.  You will be better off with your high end machine just running 1080p until the dot outside of icon range issue is resolved.

Why do I stay at 4k? Because the quality of the game in 4k is awesome, and I find myself able to discern the aircraft more distinctly (can break out the space between wings and stabs ....helps tell angle off).  But take this with a grain of salt since I mounted a TV over my desk and use as a monitor .....all 56" of it.

Dammit bruv, you cost me $500.
Went ahead and bought the third monitor since it was about half off from one of the amazon sellers.  Then I went and bought a Graphics Amplifier for my Alienware laptop....then my coworker decided he wanted a 1080ti so I bought his 980ti for $200.

IMO that's the only viable way to really enjoy 4K for gaming. Quadruplicating both the resolution and the surface area.

If your staying at 24 inch, and only play aces high you only need a 1080p monitor, above you won't be able to see the dots. I'd suggest a BenQ Zowie - XL2411, those are a solid choice. Running the game at full graphic in 144fps should keep your PC busy enough. You can also consider Gsynch if you have money to blow.

I personally sport the acer XB270HU which is superb.

damn, I got screwed out of my monitor order.  I went with one vendor because they were undercut by a penny by the cheapest one.   Unfortunately the one I ordered from canceled my order after sitting on it for a few days, and the cheapest vendor is no longer available.

I also use a tv on my desk as a monitor. It really looks amazing, even though mine is only a 36 inch at 1080p

I wanted to jump to 2k but decided to cheap out and just get a nice 1080.  Ended up buying the ASUS VG248QE 24" 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms for $204 shipped

The one I ordered just arrived today.
My first impressions are.
When you first power it up you will probably be like me and like it. You should do a search on setting this monitor up. You will find many suggestions.

Here are the settings I am starting with and so far I like them.
Splendid- theater
Brightness 100
Contrast 83
Saturation 42
Colour temp User mode - r-83 g-83 b-83
Skin tone natural
Smartview off
Sharpness 50
Tracefree 40
ASCR on
Nvidia vibrance set to 50.
eco mode off..

Coming from a 60HZ moving to 144HZ was like night and day.
I am running it behind an NVIDIA 960 4GB card.
Not changing any settings other than moving to 1920 x 1080 resolution it runs AH fantastic with very fast frame rates. The detail that you now see is breathtaking.
The look and feel is so much different than at 60HZ. The movements of the plane are much smoother also the instrument panel is clear and sharp.

Good luck with yours you will like it.

oh well done rebel your review is making me want one more now.     :D

How does 1920 x 1080 look in game in regards to dots at distance and planes at 600-1000 yards?  compared to say at 1600x1050 at 22 inch if you had something similar to that before your upgrade.

I can see and shoot very well at the moment I just don't want to jeopardise those areas of gameplay.

A 27 inch monitor would have roughly the same pixel size at 1920x1080 as a 22 inch at 1600x1050. However on a 24 inch the pixels would be about 10% smaller. Apart from the single pixel range dots being a little harder to spot you might also find that its a little harder to pick out single pixel thick wings and tails surfaces on low aspect cons at distance. Set against that the closer cons will show more detail making it easier to judge range and deflection etc. These sorts of things are very subjective though, so maybe go for a shop that has a good returns policy.

Personally I found that the jump from 60 hz to 144 hz was the single biggest improvement in monitor technology. Just skimming along the ground in AH it is visibly a lot less jerky and having twice as many frames per second can't hurt gunnery either. The bigger (27 inch) screen size was very useful too, for skinning as well as flying. G Sync was no huge improvement for me in AH as the game runs at a good FPS on my system anyway. It only makes a big difference on systems/games that suffer big FPS drops. You'll be handling 25% more pixels at 1920x1080 so your frame rates may well decrease. If your system is marginal on FPS now then either G Sync/Freesync or a better video card might be worthwhile considering.
