I got the problem fixed.
I did some research on the X52 and found that a lot of people were having this same problem back when this stick was popular. It seems that there was something about the way it was connected to the computer and drivers being installed.
So I followed the advice being given at that time. I uninstalled the drivers and went through the registry to delete all references to Saitek. Once that was done, I reinstalled the drivers and did not connect the joystick until specifically instructed to do so.
Once this was completed, I went into Windows to make sure that everything was working there (it was originally but not in the game) and then went into the game. Once in the game I discovered that the throttle was working just the way it is/was suppose to.
Now all I have to do is get use to the new sounds associated with AHIII.
Just in case anyone else runs into this problem . . . uninstall the Saitek drivers, remove everything about Saitek from the registry, reinstall drivers, but do not connect the joystick until specifically instructed to do so. Once that is done, the stick should work. I know this worked for me/mine.
Cheers
