Environment mapping
« on: April 10, 2017, 07:02:33 AM »
This is a cool option when reflections are enabled. But I find that only the NONE and ALL options work smoothly. The 2 sides option has a weird stutter in it that it makes it too distracting to use. And even the the ALL is a higher frame rate it, it produces reflected views that are very smooth.

My goal is to be able to run ALL and Self shadows [if they ever bring that option back.] I think the combo of those two effects would really up the reality factor.

It is, perhaps, the most intense graphic option there is.  The notches in the slider set the amount of time between updates of the reflected world.

There are few, if any, graphic cards which can do this operation in real time without suffering large frame rate losses, especially when there are a lot of manned objects buzzing around you.
