From what the release read at work removing the extra seats and stereo reduced the weight by almost 200 pounds compared to the hellcat

I heard they did much more than that. They beefed up the drivetrain. The hellcat has had issues with broken drivetrain and brakes.

A porsche 935 for IMSA GTO.

Since all IMSA races featured as much time on the brakes as the throttle, I figured we could use a compressor that came on with the brake switch.

It could cool the charge for the next acceleration event.

In the end, added weight, rules interpretations, and compressors not liking going from 0 rpms to 7500 in an instant as the downshifting began made it a non issue.

Now we have much better compressors such as variable displacement which are always "on".........so to speak.

That car sold for like 195 grand in "as last raced condition" in the early 2000s and I saw it at rennsport 2 reunion still in racing trim around 2004.

Seems it got a restoration to pristine condition to it's most famous livery and sold for 4.8 million only recently.

That car had 70,000 racing miles on it and a lot of famous drivers.
