Changes to zoom?

Have there been changes made to the zoom? After a patch or two back I noticed that I can't zoom in all vehicles. In some like the ship guns, I can zoom but can not "zoom in" or "zoom out" with the bracket keys. I can zoom when in F3 mode in bombers and the bracket keys work, but can't zoom at all while in F1.

As commander or as gunner?

All vehicles should be zoom able from the commander position. Some tank sights have only a zoom toggle.

But there has not been any zoom since the commander mode for vehicles was implemented.

In an M3 last night I could zoom from the gunner pos, but no in or out control. Was flying around in jug last night and could not zoom at all. Checked key mapping. All good there. I went to F3 on take off roll and had normal zoom there and in F3 in bombers too.
Thought maybe it was something in a recent patch. I'm going to check other vehicles tonight.

Maybe you adjusted the zoomed in view all the way out, so when you toggle the zoom you don't see any difference.

Can't zoom in or out. Seems the only time it's working correctly is in F3/F8 modes.

Checked with more planes and GV's last night and there seems to be no pattern. Sometimes the zoom works and sometimes it does not. I do not have "in-out" control exept in F3 views. Same for DX9 or 11. Going to upgrade my keyboard and see if that fixes it.

You need to state what position you are in (gunner, commander, pintle....).

Cockpit in fighters and bombers zooms sometimes and not others. Never any "in-out" control.
Gunner in bombers will zoom but no "in-out".
Commander in GV's same as cockpit in ftrs & buffs.
Gunner in GV's same as gunner in bombers.
The only time I get any "in-out" control is in F3/F8 veiws.

How are you invoking "zoom" and what keys are you using to operate it?

Try renaming the "settings" folder and use the default commands to see if it is a config file issue.

I invoke zoom using the z key and have always used the bracket keys for in and out. I just noticed this weekend that the z key still invokes the zoom, but now the mouse wheel controls in and out and the bracket keys although still mapped to the in out do nothing. I'm ok with it like this now that I know it. Just really confused as to how I got here...

Push comes to shove, you can always rename the games "settings" folder, which will make the game act like a fresh installation and see if that restores everything back to the way you expect it.
