90 Seconds For a 300 Game
« on: April 23, 2017, 10:12:43 PM »
Ben Ketola rolled 12 strikes across 10 lanes for  the fastest 300 game ever rolled.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQnphc6qeNs

It is a non-sanctioned 300 game, so no gold ring.  I have 2 separate 300 games also. One on a non-sanctioned league and the second when I was practicing on a single lane.  Both times, I used my own ball on lane conditions I was familiar.

Without more information about this game, I can deduce from the video he used 10 separate and identical balls drilled the same way.  he may had the lanes dressed with a "house" pattern for easy strikes meaning the oil pattern is set up with easy entry.

Anyway, it is impressive.

I rolled a strike once.  :old:

Bowled on and off when I was younger in high school. I was average at best on most occasions unless I was bowling against one particular friend of mine whom we were particularly competitive with one another.

Still. Occasionally I had my moments.
Fast forward about 12 years. Im married with my wife and hanging out with my childhood best friend and his. We start taking up bowling maybe once a week. One night Im in "The zone" and having a pretty decent night. Well one game I start rolling strike after strike after strike.  7th frame and we were all thinking the same thing at that point. But my best friend HAD to say it.
You know what he said. Its the kiss of death to any remarkable streak.

"Yanno Tom. You are only a couple of frames away from a perfect game"

So I line up. Approach the line in perfect form, Wind up and rolllllllllllllllllllllllllll lllllllllllllllllllllllllllll lllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllll the ball.
We all know what happened next right.

League play my best is 242. Was just too slow of a game for me when I was young.

In team practice I bowled over 200 quite often. In league play I was sick one night so they let me bowl out. That is how I got my 200 patch with a 242. LOL
