Updating my 51

Should the flaps match the fuselage or can they be different?

The contrast with the flaps and the wing paint seems to throw the balance off just a bit.

Maybe darker on the wings?

I swear the flaps and fuselage are the same colour on the base, I see the difference that you see and wonder if it's the spec maps. I'll tweak it some more to try get them closer.

You should check Vraciu's thread on his Eddin's "Wee Willie" P-51 - Hitech has been giving advice on map values for power, env and spec - and Vraciu has  posted his maps.   Might be worth trying them and see what can of difference it makes, for curiosity sake.

Sorry, i've been on the road for the last few days.

Try darkening the wing paint some more just to see.

It's the contrast between the two being so stark that seems off.   It may be accurate.   Not sure.

I think a darker wing paint solves it.  The metal looks good to me.

This wing color is closer to the flaps/ailerons.

Another go at the wings, Also updated the anti glare panel which i've discovered were black in the RAAF pacific.

I'd say much closer...but still too light. 

It is jarring to darken it, I've been through this before, but once your eye adjusts you'll like it.   And you can always go back, just save a backup file.
