Let me start off with a story about a game called Red Barron. You probably played it - came out in 1990. Was a good game where you had a pilot, a career, invited to other squads. Boy, wasn't it fun to fly a particular aircraft and then get invited to a duel? You also had the ability to move along squadrons, and even get invited to join other more 'prestigious' ones. And the game was a blast to fly - and you did everything not to die.
Now, all new war games have a career interface. Whether you be a WWII skipper, pilot, or a grunt, we need to update our interface so that it brings in a familiarity for the younger crowd. My idea is all around bringing that to Aces High - give your pilot a face. Put medals and awards on a uniform or at least visually show them. Give them the ability to identify a country of origin - and be competitive. It's like NFL Football. Give people the ability to wear jerseys and put their favourite players name and number on the back - with the optional drink-caddy hat. Make them feel part of the game.
And that means we need to modernize how we interface with the game.
The problem is, the way it's currently showing stats ect, it's very 1999. And if we get on Steam, people are expecting a modern interface to help manage their pilot.

If and when we get on steam, having a modern pilot interface (I think) will help cement their interest in the game. Give them something to visually see their achievements, wear a flag of their country of origin (and side - be it Bishop, Knight, or Rook). Give them something easy to manage their favourite aircraft. Make it easy to fly, take off. Join squads. Identify achievements to track and earn. Allow others to find them, and invite them to squads.
And as always, this idea is for the betterment of the product.
