....on the Freeway I see a flashing light on my instrument panel.  It was a warning, telling me the outside temperature was 122 degrees F, 50 degrees C...........half way to water boiling temperatures.  Pulled into the garage, ripped all my clothes off, (Jacket, boots, gloves, jeans, helmet).....grabbed my swim trunks and jumped in the pool.

Ahhhhhh Phoenix in the summertime.  Supposed to be hotter today.

Ya I was reading that too. Those planes can only fly up to 118 degrees. 

 I dunno how you can live there. Good thing you have a pool!

They can take-off at up to ISA +35 (varies by location of course)

No charted performance data beyond that.

Not exactly.  The performance specs don't go above 117 degrees or something like that so if they go flying at higher temps they don't have performance specs and everyone knows you have to have the proper paperwork for the airplane to fly.  I think when the paperwork equals twice the MTOW you're good to go.

The original design maximum temperature expected spec was exceeded most likely.  Remember the shuttle explosion because minimum design temperature was exceeded.

Most airlines don't have performance data for temperatures above 120F.  It's rare for the temps to get that high so, the airlines don't buy the data for higher temps.  On those 120+ days, it's a matter of waiting until the temps drop to 120F or lower and resume operations.

solar water heater panels running at night could help.  so i hear.  also running a fountain at night would increase evaporation, the number one energy loss for pool heat.  running a fountain will also raise/buffer ph highter as the air absorbs co2.

Do you have to put big blocks of ice in your pool to cool the water temp?

I have a rock waterfall that speeds evaporation and does help cool it down.  There is also an "aerator" that sprays water droplets across the surface and aids evaporation further.

All of that uses some water but my entire landscaping is "Arid" with indigenous trees and plants that do not need water.  My water bill in the summer is still under 50 bucks a month.

I have a 3 car garage that has an evaporative cooler.  That cooled air then flows out the garage ceiling cooling the attic in the entire house reducing the heat load so the house air conditioner runs less.

The house is block wall construction with foam sprayed in filling the blocks, then on the inside it is furred out with 2 X 4's and insulated, the outside has a heat barrier applied held on with chicken wire and the it is stuccoed.

2100 square foot hose my electric bill is 240 a month, every month because I'm on an averaged billing that makes your payment the same every month throughout the year.
