After originally calibrating the bombsight, if the course is changed and only an altitude update is performed, the bombsight rotates about the vertical axis back to the original course.
I have only tested this in the He 111 but it most likely applies to all bombers.
Setup:Germany Terrain.
Arena Settings: FlightModeFlags set to 6352 (Dive Bombsight checked and Auto Calibration Bombsight un-checked).
He 111H: 8x250kg bombs, 6x7.9mm MG 15, 50% Fuel, and Formations checked.
Procedure:From Field A1, launch S, accelerate to 233 TAS and open bomb doors.
Turn left to an approximate heading of 135 towards P170.
Calibrate bombsight (He111-InitalCal.jpg).
Turn right 90 degrees to an approximate heading of 225 toward Fuel Factory (He111-CourseChange.jpg).
Enter bombsight calibration mode, shift-left click map to update altitude information, then exit calibration mode.
Results:Bombsight is now looking along the original heading of 135 (He111-AltUpdate.jpg) and the terrain is sliding right to left.
Manual Calibration Mode is supposed to be more challenging but I think having to go through the whole process again just to update altitude is a bit much.
