For the sake of longevity of Aces High for the next years
« on: August 21, 2017, 02:59:42 AM »
Please HTC and everyone involved..... for the sake of longevity of the game now, Steam will bump the players, but to retain them long time the game NEEDS to have some changes like the horse was beaten over and over again.

After the game will go on steam, you WILL see plenty of new players posting on steam or here stuff that been posted numerous times already in the wishlist forum.

It's just something to consider..... to keep the new playerbase still playing 5 years and more from now.

Give it a rest.

But you will see the new players saying exactly the same things here or on steam forum over and over again.

You will be replying to each and everyone of them 'give it a rest?'

If so, they will leave.

Its ok if they say the same things, then we might get those things changed.  Most of the common sense things get changed over time, my greatest wish is that there was more engagement on the wish requests.  IE, they find one they are willing to implement and ask for feedback on how it should be done, then implement it.

Aces High III is the best casual WW2 combat flight game out there today imo but I'm cancelling my accounts for a few reasons that could be addressed.  My kids 11 and was looking for a game we could both play however he finds it too difficult which it is.   So that's his account gone.   Then there's my account, I'm okay at the game but I play for strategy and for air combat so I have a few issues that could be dealt with but aren't.

* the GV system we had previously was okay, this one is not so okay.  Bit tired of upping a plane, flying to a base, and getting one pinged by flak that I can't see till I'm lethal range.  If I do kill him he's magically transported back in the time it takes to click a button.   I have to fly all the way back.
* Resupping, get in a plane, bomber, fly to a base to take down ords, fight for 20, 30 minutes, sometimes hours, invisible m3's start spawning into the base from any of the 1 to 4 spawn points, don't even have to get onto the base to reup it instantly.   Its annoying as hell.
* Base flashing, no cons, up in a plane with a bomb, bomb the GV that's one manning the airfield, if it doesn't kill you on taking off, kill it, and its magically transported back to your base ad nauseam.

, its Aces High not Aces Low.    There are a few other problems,

Team imbalance.  Spend your afternoon fighting to capture bases, then suddenly somewhere in the world a timezone change and you get to watch all the bases you captured taken back in under an hour.   I've seen my buffer look like this after having spent a few hours capturing bases the hard way:

A1 has been captured by the [insert country]
A2 has been captured by the [insert country]
A3 has been captured by the [insert country]
A4 has been captured by the [insert country]
A5 has been captured by the [insert country]
A6 has been captured by the [insert country]
A7 has been captured by the [insert country]
A8 has been captured by the [insert country]

Frustrating and I play games to enjoy myself not to be annoyed or frustrated.   I think you'll find people from steam will experience similiar and express similiar sentiments.  The other thing with steam is its a ratings based system so if people don't like AH or get annoyed at some of its quirks that'll show in the ratings system and reviews and people will avoid it.  Fixing things after they come here wont work.

I'm sorry zygote but I do not feel the same about the issues you present.

But it would be great to get a same house discount thing so you can play with your kid

This is yet another plea to make an existing arena conform to the players idea of what the game should be and how others should play it.  Not going to happen.

If you think you have a better idea of how the game should be played, explore the arena settings and terrains to see if you can create you own arena with those settings (it is free to do) and if you are correct and that is what players want, then they will flock to it and we can explore the possibility of creating a new arena with your configuration.

Locking this thread as the answer to it has been expressed before and no one has yet to step up and show they have a better idea.  All that is wanted is for us to deconstruct the existing arena to conform to yet another players idea of how everyone else should play the game.
