Lagging Aircraft becoming more of a problem
« on: August 22, 2017, 11:11:30 PM »
So, I'm flying in the main arena after work today, chasing a P-47 and multiple other targets, and it was some of the worst spazz I have ever seen!  I am leading the spit nice and smooth and they keep jumping making it unplayable for the time. :bhead

The other P47 shot across the sky a half mile, then back, up...down...wound up behind me!!  Then at one point he gains 5k and immediately wound up in the earth and disappeared.  I figured he crashed?  Nowhere to be  found, so I break off and he is diving down on me. :x

I have a solid ethernet connection with single digit ping and am just now noticing this becoming more of a problem than it was in the past.  I understand not everyones connection is beast, but can we please have some sort of mechanism for people with 99999 ping and freaking satellite internet connections who are on the moon?

Maybe it is a problem outside of individual connections that I am unaware of, but I know other games disallow players if their ping or connection is equivalent to a 14.4k dialup over a cordless phone... :bhead
:airplane:

Just FYI, if everyone around you is jumping around, then it usually means it is your connection being the problem.  If it is not everyone, then is is usually their connection.

You do realize when a Windows 10 update comes down it will cause lag to the player(s), regardless of the bandwidth of their Internet connection.

Of course, this is all speculation as to why it happens.  It is easy enough to test the sending direction of your connection using Ping Plotter.  You cannot test the return path, but I can and would be happy to do so.

Actually, I think YUCCA was the only one who was able to shoot the warping 47 down.  And there were about 10 of us trying.   :D

You have to remember, if you see him warping, he sees you warping as well.
