now i think of it.  its been a loong time since i ambushed a convoy.  and a really long time since i died from train ack.  :headscratch:

Also makes me think, why are we not playing AH2 while AH3 gets finished.?  :headscratch:

heres to looking forward to shooting a train some day,  from a PT boat on a river.  :old:

I'm halfway there for the PT on rivers, bridges are making it possible so that you can run a river, canal or channel through a GV combat area.

How to protect an airfield with the maproom on it and no town from GVs? Eventually this will get shore batteries and PT spawns to defend against task groups.

Each country has a PT spawn in the canals at TT.

The view from the canals at TT from a PT.

Three bridges or the equivalent is fair to both sides of an attack.

Just created this spot, there are a number of small airfields with only a maproom on this terrain, some with towns will get rivers and bridges also. Still need to lay down three bridges and a maproom at this location. That big white ring is a 3mile radius, two GV spawns will be across the river away from the airfield on that side of the ring. Shore battery and PT spawns are another global object install session on its own later after I do the global GV spawn install session. Everything I lay down, I have to then visit it at that location offline to check the work.

Can PTs travel under bridges now?  (It used to be, a long, long time ago, in AH2, that PTs would be stopped by bridges even if there was clearly room.)

It's kind of an optical illusion, as you pass under, you skim the road bed for a moment.

Found this old thread from 2003 where my son and I went low level intruder flying in a pair of Mossies.  Way back in the middle of nowhere we ran across a train.  Just a step back into the history books for us at the time.  Loved having trains to find :)

Bustr are the bridges destroyable? I remember way back in AH bridges could be bombed and taken out.  :headscratch:

We had an FSO in the last year or so where strafing bridges down was a mission.

Hitech told me to make them indestructible. If you can destroy them, and it will be the first thing defenders do to trap or block tanks. That is the end of the GV fight and no point to placing bridges at airfields in the Melee arena. Maybe FSO or the AvA will setup something two country needing bridges destroyed. I'm setting 3 bridges to each field I put a river between the spawns and the airfield or town. The center bridge has very little cover but, is the most direct path if you feel lucky no one is in the trees across the open field I place behind the bridge. The two side bridges are setup with cover so you can blast away at each other for control of the bridge.

I guess the trains and convoys stopped working after we got new roads with smooth bends instead of corners? Guess it takes quite a bit of programming to make things flow right.

Maybe the trains kept running into trees.   :D
