Check checking to see how you fared from the storm. Drop a line when ya can.

Hey Mav,  Irma was way south of Bermuda.  Barbuda (which does sound the same when heard on radio and TV) on the other hand was basically destroyed.  The entire island is being evacuated.  Their whole infrastructure system has been destroyed.  No power generation, no sewage, no communications, no nothing.  We have has many worried messages from people thinking that was us.

Our office survived on Grand Turk and our home in Miami was spared a bad hit when it wobbled west.

So, although we were not in danger personally we had staff that were and assets.  But, we look to have done as well as we could have hoped for, so all good.

Jose up next...wtf is it doing?  Circling around like a damn shark.  The water here is warm so I just hope there is lots of shear to break it up rather than see it reform and head back to the Caribbean/Florida/East Coast or this way.

Good to hear that you are doing OK. I just assume that any major hurricane is going to smack your area as you are kinda in the middle of the hurricane highway there. Something like tornado alley here in the mainland. This was such a major storm that I was worried how much damage you might have sustained.

Had a call last night from our MD on Grand Turk.  The office has been something of a shelter for the staff from the heat as we have a really good generator which can power the ac units.  The problem there now is getting more diesel fuel.

Looks like there will not be full power restoration until December on the island, so we will set up a temporary office on Provo which, although they took a hit, is in much better shape.

Still waiting on word from another building on GT and a condo in Provo.  Fingers crossed.

House in Miami is fine.  A small section of the fence fell down.  Other than that...nada.  Our tenant left their nanny behind in the house after they evacuated apparently.  A very odd decision in my opinion and thank goodness nothing serious happened while she was there alone.  They get back to the house this weekend.

Well....hello to you two old timers. Good to see y'all are still kicking!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!
