Taking a little break.
« on: July 20, 2001, 11:50:00 AM »
Well, for anyone that cares, I'll be taking a little break.  Not sure how long I'll be gone though.

The game is just starting to wear on me, I don't know why.  When I'm not playing it, I WANT to fly- but once I'm in the game it is pretty boring.

I've done just about all I can do to rekindle my interest- I've just been an m3 and waited for folks to kill VH and ack so we could sneak a base, I've flown what I see as the most challenging (c202) and least challenging (nik2) planes in the game as a break from my usual rides.  I've been a shore gunner in a duel with a cruiser of an enemy fleet (ok, I'll admit, I got a helluva kick outta that one).

What really amazed me was that even in the C202- people refused to let 1 person fight me.  My SA is prolly good enough to handle a 2v1 fight, and come out on top (well, I did in the 202 yesterday)- but some of this stuff just amazed me.  Enemy's DO see that lil <202> sign above my plane right?  Do they figure I'm so dangerous they better overwhelm me with 6 planes?

Anyways, I guess I'm sorta disgusted right now, I'll be doing some non-computer game things hehehe.  I'll see ya when I see ya I suppose.

Urchin every one goes through what you are describing.  Best advice is to take a break, forget about the game for a little while then come back when you are ready.  No game/sim should cause you anyone any grief.  One thing I found out when I returned to AH was that it only gets better with time.  Hopefully when you do come back, some of the things that made you take a break will be gone, or at least not matter as much to you.  Good luck, hope to see you back soon.

edit: oh yeah 50 demeritts for a whiney exit  ;)

Boy do I know that feeling.

It is amazing, though, how much a break (even a very short one) can help.

(started a break the other day, don't know how long I'll be able to stay away, though)
