It is a little too close to "pay to win" for my taste, and it is really easy to earn perkies already.  That said I do wish that there was something else to do with perkies because I have got thousands of bomber perks and the B-29 and Ar-234 are not that useful to me in the MA.

The B-29 is the best CV killer in game hands down. And the 5" gunners will almost faint out of excitement when they see your icon over the CV  :x

You will get shot down less often than you might think. In 14 anti-ship missions, I lost only 5 B-29 to ship gunners. Only once I was stopped by them.  :old:

Recently with AH going live on Steam and the constant comparisons to F2P games that sell unlocks and whatnot to bypass mind-breaking grinds, several ideas have been floated to make AH a more F2P model to reduce subscription fees. Most of them are discountable instantly for very obvious reasons about how AH is built and how it plays.

Example: Suggesting it go F2P doesn't work because what do you monetize? Restrict planes? No. That's dumb and too pay-to-win which everybody hates and would cause more backlash but also goes against HTCs past 2 decades of philosophy for bringing historic flight models and such to the game and letting players fly what they want.



I wouldn't monetize the subscription portion of the game but I would monetize the free to play portion of the game, such as Match Play.  Offer cosmetic items for sale such as custom skins, sounds, etc.

Give the newbs 262s or 29s. It will give us a chance to get those 2 262 kills in 1 sortie. Or just give the new accounts 500 perk points to play with.

Pretty sure most vets have plenty of perk points banked. That doesnt make me roll 29s every sortie

Custom skin monetization is the standard in PC video games today...but only offering them in the F2P portion is useless....it wouldn't bring people to the MA.

You can't separate f2p from sub player base. The players ARE part of the draw for the people that will sub. You need them in the same arenas interacting with each other, becoming part of the community, and then wanting to subscribe (or somehow give money to the game) and feel a part of that game.

Separating them out to their own arenas doesn't accomplish any of that.

A crowd attracts a crowd; this axim was used by 711 to grow popularity of their stores when they first started up. When people see other people doing things in large enough numbers they are naturally attracted to it.
