I believe it is more do to the fact my wife Is Russian, hence you become very adept at translating minimum words into concepts.

I thought he was using a programing style of communicating a change from one coader to another.

At one job I worked that had in house programmers to write client front ends and create WEB to mainframe and Win OS database bridges. They wrote like that in emails when they needed something from me. Didn't matter to them that I was not a programmer, they refused to write in the Kings english to anyone inside of the company.
